Default OBD2 differences?

Just wandering, for the s2k does the wiring for the OBD2 change or not from the 2000-2002 models or not? as it was mandatory in 1996 for US but 2001 for the uk to have an OBD2 port.

I am guessing that Honda kept the wiring/port from the beginning of production for all countries e.g. EU/US etc.

Thanks

Not 100% sure on the EU cars. But in the US, the OBD2 stayed the same, but the location of the port moved. The MY00-01 cars have the OBD2 on the right side (passenger footwell for left hand drive cars) and MY02-05 have it on the left side.

Australian cars didn't get OBDII either. The PCM's are different and It's not worth the wiring hassle to change it to OBDII.

The Car still has a 3 pin diagnostic port like US production OBDI Hondas.

bugger, so aussie and UK models before 2001 had OBD1 instead of 2??

Any pin diagrams to check the difference?

AusS2000 would be the one to ask.. He looked into switching his AU market car over years ago.

Hey, resurrecting the thread BUT I plugged in my OBD2 scanner tool that I bought a while ago and it worked... seemed like my X reg (MY00) s2k (JDM) responded to the software on my laptop... think it used an ELM327 interface but not 100%...

Gonna use it in a min to go for a run and get some baseline temps for when the Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket gets installed so there is something to compare it to...

Nuthing beats having a computer in your car reading off sensor data... v.pro and fast and furious.... just need standalone ECU to make it really fun
