Basically when I had the roof down (Ive not driven it with it up until today) there was a very feint rattle when going over rough bits of road, not looked into it because it was very very feint, when the roof is up however it is very loud and still sounds to be coming from behind me, seems to be drivers side only.

I checked the FAQs/Common problem list and I don't think its a striker problem as the rattle stays with the roof down.

I had a quick look around the roof/area it folds down into and found nothing, can anyone point me in the right direction before I dealer it.

Many of those rattles that come from right behind the driver are the rear tray where the top folds.

 

Or from a loose spare tire wing nut....

Are you saying the plastic tray gets dislodged?

I've been chasing the hell out of a rattle right behind my driver seat (top down only though) but I have been looking only at the convertible.
