Default OBD2 Software

I want to buy a OBD2 software. What is the difference between the software sold by www.obd-2.com and AutoEnginuity

I went the Laptop/Software/Cable route (OBD-2). I also have E-manage software and the workshop manual on CD in it. Oh, and WiFi connection to my DSL link so I can surf S2ki at the same time.

The best thing about the laptop though is that you can monitor and graph various sensors in real time whilst working on the car.

I recently bought ScanTool from AutoEnginuity and am satisfied with it. It has a clean interface and does all the main things well, like reading CEL codes, freeze-frame data, tracking and logging data from the car's sensors. You can't save information except in data-logging format, and you can't write equations using sensor inputs.

I believe you can do both of these things with www.obd-2.com software and it is considerably cheaper, but the interface doesn't look as easy to use. That's what turned me away from it.

Both tools report the results of several manufacturer-defined tests, in addition to the EPA-mandated ones, but I have not been able to determine what these tests consist of.
