Default occasionally weak/no crank when hot problem

I searched the forum for answers but didnt find anything that would fix my problem.

I have a problem cranking the car hot when its been sitting for a few minutes (5-15min). It cranks very slow or even wont crank like the battery is not charged. But then i wait for another 5-10 minutes and it fires right up (strong crank). When engine is cold it starts right up with no problems.
I changed the battery with a new one (Yuasa),
Cleaned 2 grounds in front of the car (left and right side), cleaned all gorunds under the car from engine to chassis and cleaned that brown cable on the starter and the problem is still there. this just happens occasionally, not every warm star.

Where to look next? could it be a bad starter?

sorry for my english :P

Battery terminal are clean and tight? Sometimes, you need to work the clamps over the terminal to insure the maximum amount of contact.

Good luck!

so far i rechecked batery terminals and retightened the , a also removed the negative battery cable that it bolted to firewall (was a little coroded and dirty). Next i found the other end of ground cable that is bolted to chassis right under abs module on the left side under smaller fuse rellay box and it was also very dirty and little coroded. The last one i did was that ground on the cylinder head between engine and firewall (got my hands cut very well :P ).

So i went for a longer drive, filled the tank at a gas station, and car fires up normal now.... tried to stop and restart it a few times and still starts normal..... the starter feels a little stronger now. But until i drive it for a week or two im not completely sure i fixed the problem.

windhund116 thank your for reply and a great tip........i think i will recheck battery terminals one last time haha

i have noticed that a in the drivers side engine compratment relay fuse box, there is a yellow fuse with blue/green oxidation and since one cable from the starter is conected directly to it, can it cause this problem?
If the relay is overheating, would you be kind enough and point me to where those relays are exactly so i can check them :P

Again......i apologise if my english is bad

Any corroded connection (ground or hot) can be a potential electrical issue. Cleaning off the corrosion or dirt and using a lubricated contact cleaner will help preserve and keep contact in good working order.

That point about lubing the contacts after you clean them.is important. Otherwise they will just corrode again soon, and cause same problem again.

I like Deoxit D100. GN100 if the contacts are new.

Haven't heard of that before, but the Amazon reviews shows it has quite the following.

I couldn't find any mention of this there, but is it really better than say the standby, cheap dielectric grease one might have laying around the garage?

If you have a check engine light get the code(s) and let us know. I had a similar problem before when I first got the car. The code was P0325 . The suspects were a cam sensor and the crank sensor. The issue was the crank sensor.
