odd shifter problem today
Today I started experiencing weird clunking noises from my shifter, especially from 3rd to 4th gear. My car is an 04 w/ 83k on it. It also clunks when I downshift into first as I'm coming to a dead stop. Anybody experience anything similar to that? My car shifted fine as previously as this morning. I did switch to a counter-sunk knob 2k ago which had made my shifts feel smoother. The issue just popped up today, could it be due to the rain and extra cold day? But I also warm of my car before driving, and the clunking still occurs during extended driving. My clutch/slave was replaced 10k ago, w/ Motul clutch fluid, and my tranny fluid was flushed w/ Amsoil tranny fluid almost 20k ago so i don't think it's due to overly dirty fluids. I was told I needed to regrease my shifter at a certain interval, could that be the issue? Is it possible that I unseated something from over torquing my shift knob on? Is my shifter bushing worn out? Any advice helps and is appreciated.
