Default Odd smell after vtecing

Car was warmed up and I had a nice long empty stretch of road on the way home from dinner the two nights. So from a stop I pretty much floored it through three shifts. About a minute later once I pulled into the driveway I noticed a slight burnt plastic/rubber smell but couldn't figure out where it was coming from.

Anyway, I'm still catching a slight smell when I come to a stop and turn the car off the last two days. I can barely catch a wiff of something but still no clue if its coming in from under the hood or from the exhaust. Haven't pushed the throttle beyond 5k or so.

Any ideas what is up?

Cathan

Also, if you can get the car up on jack stands and look for anything that could have wrapped itself around the exhaust, cat, or any other hot part under the car. I had a burning smell too and discovered a black plastic bag melting to the cat.

Perhaps. Would that continue to give off a smell. It seems to be shifting just fine.

Might be the clutch, kind of smells like burning nuts or something; I don't know. When you were shifting was your clutch slipping a little bit?

AP2's have the clutch delay valve which slips the clutch slightly in order to preserve the life of the differential. You were probably smelling the clutch after you floored it
