Odd tapping noise on low revs (Clueless)
Hey guys this is my first Honda, A s2000 which a love! \
I know my basic shit so i dont normally ask for help but for some reason my s2000 started to make this noise from the nose and mechanics cant even seem to figure it out... At first, i thought i possibly spun a bearing, then was told it was engine/gearbox mount and that wasn't the case and no exhaust leaks.
Possibly need my values are in need of readjusting?
Heres a short 20-sec video of the noise

sounds exactly like my failing OEM cat sounded. Second core had become dislodged from the housing. Not enough to rattle like most cats, but enough to sound like dead exhaust like yours. goes away with any throttle input or backpressure in exhaust
diagnosis
- Rubber mallet to the cat, listen for rattle
- confirm the rattle unscrewing secondary o2 sensor, sticking your finger in the hole towards the back of the car, and feeling the core move around with your fingers
Solution - replace cat with High Flow cat, with heat shield tabs welded on for visuals.
