Default OEM shock bushing replacement?

I installed new OEM shocks and springs. Due to beginner (me) mistake, I broke the rubber bushing that sits on the top of the shock.

The shocks are installed and I'd like to know if I can just remove the top nut from the engine bay and switch the bushing or if I have to remove the whole assembly to change the bushing?

yes you can remove the top nut if you are only replacing the top bushing. i accidently did that as well when putting on my coilovers.
