Does anyone have the engine rattle around 4k? Usually loudest in lower gears. Im suspecting its the timing chain guide? Not 100% though.

I just got my s2000 and I hear a little buzzing rattle that sounds like it's come from in the dash. Any suggestions?

I also have a rattle/buzz from the dash, right around 4-5k rpm especially if I give it lots of gas. It doesn't sound like its coming from the engine though, its definitely the resonance vibration that is causing something to rattle right where the radio head unit is (sounds like its coming from right behind it). Ideas anyone?

reporting back. i removed the hfc and there isnt anything wrong with it. i tabbed it, shook it, seems intact. but the gasket that goes in between the cat back and hfc is rusting and falling apart, like dry rotted. this gasket (house gasket) lasted me about 2 years which came with berk's hfc. pretty good and durable, i guess.

ill add pics ina sec.

edit: here are the pics
