Anyone have a super high pitched mosquito like sound while decelerating in 3rd at about 3k RPM? I missed a few shifts at a track day when I bought the car and attempted to force a gear when I shouldn't have at Laguna. Not sure that caused it, but it was a mistake none-the-less!!!! It sounds like "Eeeeeeeeeeeee", not that it helps! lol...

my engine has 65k on it and when i first turn the car on rpm's sometimes will dip dangerously low to the point where the car almost stalls, then the engine almost seems to rattle and shake, and then rpm's make there way back up to normal. this also happens to me when i come to a stop when driving.

Any clue?

edit: Christolf- Anyone have a hood rattle at idle?
^^^THIS! anyone know why? even when my cars rpm's dont dip dangerously
low the engine still seems to shake at idle. before i bought it i had a pre-buy
inspection and the one thing they found they fixed, and it would have had
nothing to do with this. So anyone have a clue?

I have this one rattle that sounds like its coming from the center console by the cup holders, and it only happens sometimes. It'll randomly appear out of the blue when i start the car up and wont go away until i go over a bumpy surface or something in the car, and it'll rattle pretty loudly in the cabin over uneven road surfaces etc. THis is an AP2 btw, thanks for any help I can get...this sound is SO annoying when it happens

Hi guys,

A few weeks ago I´ve noticed some light cyclic "grinding" metalish noise when decelarating, at low speed like from 60 to 30 km/h. Then, on even lower speed, the sound changes (or it is followed by...) into a small rattling noise, as described below.

This small cyclic rattling noise wich sounds very muck like that chain tensioner rattle (wich I had and fix it at Honda) can only be audible at very low rolling speed, like from 5 to 20 km/h, especially if you put the car on neutral.

I think it might be something from wheels or drivetrain (bearings or something like that) because the sound rate follows the speed rate. Apparently the sound comes from the rear.

The first "grinding" metal sound sort of disappeard (and I don´t like "disappearing" sounds without diagnose and fix) but that small rattle still comes to life from time to time (yesterday I went for a 150 km ride and no sounds, today I went to a smaller ride and there he was )

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your attention...

^ Sounds like possibly a bad wheel bearing due to the axle nut not being torqued down to the revised specs.

Today I managed to reproduce that rattle sound. Having the car stoped at the garage, on neutral, I pushed the car back and forward and listening from the outside the rattle is coming somewhere from the rear left wheel.

As a reference I considered tyre valve position: the sound starts when the tyre valve is at 3:00 position, it drags a bit, stops, and then clicks once when tyre valve is at 12:00 (counterclock spin)

Considering your opinion Julieu, it could be a bearing... Tomorrow I´ll take it to Honda and hopefully I can reproduce the rattle again...

Thanks

My wind deflector buzzes/rattles at certain speeds, or if I go over certain bumps. Its very irritating but I don't know which part of it is causing the buzz. If I hold it down, the buzzing stops. I tried laying it down but it makes no difference. Anyone have any idea?

had a rattle that would be noticable going over bumps and at higher speeds. found that a plastic plug-in bolt was missing in the black plastic shrouding under the car between the passenger door and the front wheel well. honda service had the part. i'm a happy guy.
