Default Oh crud! tranny problems

Okay my 03 has 17k miles on it. it has been driven hard at times but usually smoothly. i usually take it for a run every now and then though. anyway yesterday it felt like my clutch was slipping. well today under very easy conditions, normal driving it got worse and worse. so bad that at 60 miles an hour at 6 gear if you put any gas in it, she will rev up to 9k even with your foot completley off and away from the clutch. It also bearley will accelerate without revving up. so is this a clutch, throw out bearing, pressure plate? could this be under warranty. i just had the car in for a tune up like a week ago, could they have made a mistake.

That is exactly the same thing that happened to my SC'ed S2000 when the clutch was roasted from too much power.

I would suggest the ACT heavy duty clutch kit, even for a stock replacement. Makes the clutch much more grabby. You can chirp second with it.

However, I only pay for my mods and don't work on my car myself, so don't listen to me.

Illuminati, it is most likely that your clutch is in need of replacement. This could be the clutch disc, flywheel, PP or all of these, although other things may also need attention. Without being there, this would be impossible to say for sure. It is also not likely that this will be a warranty claim ('03). Clutches are "wear" items and this wear is dependent upon how the car was used.

same thing happened to me on my '00 a long time ago. your clutch is fried either on the flywheel or PP side. it will have to be replaced. don't drive it anymore because it may leave you stranded somewhere.

Well honda just made up for everything. Ive been really mad over this considering this car is less than a year old. Ive had cars with way more power etc, and driven them so much harder without fail. they said they would cover the new clutch and all the work done, this ONE time. AAA+++ to honda right now. This is what makes customers for life.

You have found a rare gem in the dealer kingdom. Keep up good relations with this one. It's a keeper.
