Default Oil catch can install question

Two weeks ago I decided to install an oil catch can. From what I have see here on this forum is that it goes in line with the breather line on the valve cover closest to the front of the car (No PCV on this one) and ends up in the rubber intake elbow.

This is how mine is hooked up. Now the problem I have is that I usually loose about a quart of oil every 3500 miles or so. The car dosn't smoke and there are no leaks. Since I installed the catch can I have driven 1800 miles and and there is only one tiny drop in the can. I figured there would be more than that.

Am I supposed to have it hooked up in line with the PCV instead? Or maybe both tubes together? Or do I use 2 cans since one is before the throttle body and the other is after?

Help me out here please! Thanks a million!

There is a DIY that shows installation.

The DIY shows a Moroso can that vents to the atmosphere, connected at the PCV. You could install it there, since thats where most people say all the oil is at. I looked up the PCV diagram in the Helms and fresh air is supposed to flow from the intake breather to the valve cover, then excess blow by vapor flows from the PCV and recirculates into the intake manifold (so it doesn't escape to the atmosphere--emissions related). So it makes sense that most of the oil would be at the PCV side.

What i have noticed, is that on many Japanese race S2000s, they seem to get a lot of oil coming out from the valve cover breather (shown by the clear oily tubing) besides the PCV--which most people on this forum only use. I'm FI and i have a little oil in m intake piping (pretty sure it's not a leaky turbo), so I was personally thinking about mimicking the jdm tuners, in which is seems they "T" the valve cover breather and the PCV to the catch can and cap off the intake & Intake manifold sides of those two hoses. Only thing i'm worried about going this route, is that it's disrupting the direction of the 'flow' mentioned in the Helms. Not worried so much about the PCV, since blow by vapors will still be allowed to escape the crank case, but on the valve cover breather side, there will no longer be fresh air coming from the intake. Wondering if this will negatively affect the engine at all. I can see from pictures how these JDM tuners are doing it, but i have no reasoning. Anyone have any input?
