Oil change question.
According to manual its every 7500 miles.
but as i know honda is every 3000 miles perhaps?
And i remember reading that people switching to synthetic to change less often, so regular oil being changed 7500 miles confuse me.
oh and, should i get it done at dealer? do they perform any different service than any other oil change place? Cuz its just a hassle to drive 30minutes to get to the dealer.
thanks!~

your call as to when you change, new oil in car/breakin oil is usually supposed to be good to keep for over 3,000 miles nad the manual does say 7500 is ok...i use 3,500+/-, just me, your mileage may differ.
when i do change it out is always VERY DIRTY.

also, you should change it yourself.
if you take it anywhere for oil changes, it is always going to be the dealers newest probationary mouth-breather "tech" doing the work. There are so many stories of this work being botched. It is very easy to do and will be right all the time if YOU do it.

You should really read your owner's manual to determine which catagory of maintenance your car falls under - "Normal" or "Severe". Using synthetic may allow you to extend your oil change interval, but it does NOT exempt you from adhering to the maintenance schedule for warranty purposes should this become necessary. Use synthetic for the protection and peace of mind, NOT to extend your change interval.
Do it yourself and keep receipts and records to show the dealer in case you need to make a claim. If they see that you fall under "severe" and you have been going with "normal" or even extending well past 7500 miles because you decided that synthetic was good for it, watch them squirm out of granting you your claim.

I fall into the "severe" category, however, I have done a UOA of regular and now synthetic as well.
Regular oil my UOA shows at 5000 miles I have oil life left. So IMO i would think 5000 miles is a decent interval for a good conventional oil (i now use havoline GF4)
Synthetic, I had a UOA done at 9000 miles of valvoline synpower, and it showed I had oil life left. So I tend to change synthetic at 10k.
even with regular oil, 3000 mile oil changes are a waste.
