After seeing this thing in SkyMall I did a search and this thread popped up. I'm curious if anybody has been using one of these. I have a nice jack and jack stands but this thing looks like it could save some time. I only have a tight one car garage so moving everything around is a bit cumbersome. Plus it would be nice not to have to even remove the drain plug.

I checked out the Griot's site. The pump is kind of cool in a neat novelty kind of way. Price is alright. I would definately try it if I had 60 or so bucks laying around. Maybe you could use it to alternate; one change with the pump and the next by way of draining if it gives you "pice of mind" by getting "all" the particles out. Use a good filter, good oil and change oil regularly and the above mentioned shouldn't be a problem. For someone with limited work space-it might be worth it.

I personally use the oil change and crawling under the car as an opportunity to visually inspect the S.

get a banjo olt and fitting to replace the drain bolt, get a braided line with a cap and run near teh side of the car...when ready just unplug it and 'suck' the oil via that line. viola. pita, i'd rather just change my oil the regular way.

I don't really get why you would want to change the oil this way when its so easy to just put a socket on the drain plug.

I pour a little extra down there after the drain has run dry just to make shure. Oil is allways clean still when I change it next time
