Default Oil Changing Question and weekend car?

I only drive my S on the weekends and put around 120 miles on it in a month. So does that mean I need to change the oil every 3 months since it is 3k or 3 months which ever comes first??

Also since I only drive it on the weekend which amounts to 30 miles a weekend do I need to do anything to the car besides let it warm up well before I drive it.

Thanks!

I leave Mobil 1 5w-30 in my crankcase for up to 9 month intervals due to low milage.

You need to drive more bro. My car is not a daily driver, but sometimes do 150 miles in one night.

oil changes are not that expensive. I change it every 3 months except during winter storage.

In a case of low milage, 3 months is a waste money, time and resources imo.

I do my oil changes every 3000 miles regardless of months. I agree with RACER, its a waste of time and money to do it every three months especially if you only go 500 miles.

When Bush admitted the USA was addicted to oil I thought he meant crude oil.

Reading about the completely outdated thoughts of changing perfectly good oil every 3 months / 3000 miles I now understand he meant engine oil.
3000 miles is in the manual, mentioned in the severe maintenance schedule, that is true.
But 3 months.... c'mon

Yes, its your car, your money and your oil.
And yes.. it's my opinion

Conventional oil is good for about 6 months in your crankcase and synthetic is good for about a year (this is assuming you don't put on enough miles to warrant a change). There is also no need to warm up the car before driving it, start it, let the revs drop, and away you go. Its actually better for the engine to be warmed up by lightly driving the car and by the time you reach full operating temp your tranny and rear diff will be warm and ready to go too.
