Oil consumption

No you don't
Just tell us the brand / type.
i know it's synthetic because this what Honda use locally for S2000s and it what's stated in mine's all service paperwork...

Anybody else watch the F1 race today? Oil consumption came up with the Red Bull team ... Mark Weber's car, I believe. He was told NOT to lift at the end of the straight.
Stephen Matchett (former F1 mechanic) explained that lifting off causes negative pressure in the engine that can draw engine oil out (through the valves?).
Something similar may be happening here.

you might be getting higher consumption in high vacuum engine conditions which occurs in typical easy driving situations, as opposed to WOT lower vacuum conditions. The dipstick on these cars is also a bit tricky to read consistently, you have to read it in exactly the same conditions and method in order to get consistent comparisons.
You have to consume more than 1 quart per 1000 miles before Honda gives you an attention on a high oil consumption claim, and I don't believe that you have an oil consumption issue.

so can soemthing be done to check/fix this?
maybe some valve is not working properly?

this is interesting idea.

You might want to check the pcv valve and change it if it hasn't been done for a few years. Some owners have reported good results using Krankvents as well. You can also try some different motor oil formulations and see if you consume less on different oils.
I know my consumption has dropped a decent amount since making a few changes. I've switched to Amsoil 5w40 from Castrol Syntec 10w30. Before the switch I did a couple of short oil change intervals by running some cleaning fluid through the engine along with a High Mileage oil. I now run a bit of upper cylinder lubricants in the fuel from time to time. I also switched to an Ap2 pcv valve on my Ap1 when I changed valvecovers, which may have partly helped as well.
i will follow up more.
i was already very pleased after those x-cross days and hunrreds of miles i mountains.......
perhaps i will try "stronger" pcv - supra's or mazda-turbo's one.
