Default Oil cooler install question

I'm putting in a accusump and oil cooler and I notice the small stock oil cooler sandwich before the oil filter with all the tubing exposed. Would a new sandwich plate be called for here or has anyone vampired into the stock one yet?

I'm not sure how the setup for the Accusump is, but for my oil cooler, i simply used a sandwich adapter that mounts on top of the stock "oil cooler." I went this route because i wanted the oil cooler to warm up the oil quicker and the sandwich adapter that I used has a thermostat on it.

One of the install options of the accusump is to shoot it into the main oil journals that the stock cooler plate looks to have a connection to. I'm just looking for an alternate way to get all this stuff hooked up and in the interim learn a few things...for instance, what is the flow direction of the various piping in the stock oil cooler sandwich?

You do realize that the stock oil "cooler" is actually a water jacket. It has no oil in it. You cannot utilize that system for any aftermarket oil cooler that requires you obtain oil to push through a rad type of cooler and then have it come back in.

I prolly would have found out really quickly when/if I pulled a hose
You would have had green coolant all over the place. That's what I use as the right side engine coolant drain instead of the block plug (since I have the block heater there).
