oil cooler lines
if i eliminate the stock oil cooler, can i plug the coolant port on the driver's side of the block and the port near the thermostat that it returns to without any ill effects?

He's wondering why you want to eliminate the oil cooler. It serves a purpose, more so an oil warmer to get your engine up to temp quicker. But it's your car. If you feel like removing something that actually helps, so be it.

i removed it when i initially boosted it a few years back and never felt the need to reinstall it. that being said, i've had a hose bypassing it and returning the coolant to the water pump. if i were to simply plug the 2 ports, the one from the driver's side of the block that originally went to the cooler and the return port on the water pump, would there be any adverse effects?
also, wtf. i've had 2 replies to this post and neither one even sort of even halfway attempted to answer my question. either share some knowledgeable insight or move along please.

No need to be an ass dude. I was more or less replying to cosmomiller.
To answer your question, you shouldn't see any adverse affects. Just make sure whatever you use to block it off is rated for coolant and clamped on there extremely well. Regular rubber vacuum caps will degrade over time due to the ethylene glycol in our coolant. If it were me and I had to pick, I'd just leave the bypass hose on there. If you haven't already, you could remove the front black metal water pipe and just do a short bypass hose on the drivers side of the engine instead of over where the cooler originally was. (Unless that's what you currently have)

Are you running without an oil cooler completely AND creating more heat? Sounds risky.
When I installed my oil cooler, I just capped both ends. I plan to remove the pipe from the drivers side all together next year.
