lately when i go to check my oil (which i do obsessively) i find that the dip stick isnt pressed all the way flush with the motor its sticking out a little bit. i push it back down and it dosent pop up or anything but every time i check lately its sticking up a little bit. their is no oil coming out of the engine though it seems to be sealing the hole still.. why would this be happening?

its an 03 no wrecks or other problems.

 

common situation. many people found the cure by rotating the dipstick 180 degrees.

Aren't there a couple of O-rings on the dip stick? Maybe one is worn?
