Default Oil Filter

I just bought a 2002 S2000 w/12K miles. Just before selling it, the previous owner chaned to synthetic old (Mobile 1). He cautioned me to only use the Japanese oil filter. Does this ring true with anyone else? Are there equally good, readily available filters. Are there some that I should steer clear of?

I would suggest the PCX filter from Honda, or the HAMP filter (currently for sale in the GB forum).

Go with the Honda filter. It's your best (and safest) bet.

I have not had a Honda filter on my car since the original first one. My car is 3.5 years old, the last year with a S/C. My oil analysis shows all is well. I change my oil every 3000 miles without fail.
