Thumbs up OIL filter thread size and pitch.

Does anyone know the thread size and pitch.
An am looking at putting in an oil cooler but need to get the correct adapter to send and receive the oil from the heat exchanger/thermostat.

I thought it was something like M20x1.5 or M22x1.5 but cant remember.

All Hondas have a 20 x 1.5mm thread for the oil filter. The OD for the mounting gasket is around 2.475" for our car. If you buy a Perma-Cool adapter, they usually come with multiple adapters, and you screw on the correct one. I'm not sure if you have to specify thread size for others such as Greddy.

I was actually looking at the Perma-Cool system.

If you have there system could you post pics of the install.

Also which adapter did you use? I want to stay with the factory oil filter. It looks like model 186 is the one.

So based on that there relocation kit that calls for there filter or equivalent might be out of the picture.

I already have a Greedy adapter plate at the interface to allow hookups for the Defi oil pressure and temp gauges.

Is there anything wrong with using two adapter plates back to back and then put on the filter on ?

Die cast from aerospace quality aluminum (Perma-Cool) or machined from billet aluminum (Canton)?????

Putting two back-to-back increases the chance of fatigue due to engine vibrations and a cantilevered weight. Picture the oil filter, filled with oil vibrating back and forth with the vibrations of the engine. The further it sticks out (due to adapters), the greater the stress on the threaded components. Eventually something will give. It will likely work without a problem, but you are increasing your chances of failure sometime down the road.

You may want to consider tapping into your existing oil pressure sender port. You could mount both your stock pressure switch and oil pressure sender there using a braided hose to prevent fatigue. Xviper has a good writeup showing how to do this. That's the way I have mine. Then you could mount a tee at your Greddy adapter and hook up both your temp sender and your cooler.
