Default Oil filters

Do you guys use the honda recommended oil filter or is there a filter that you find better or comparable to the honda filter. I'm a honda tech and just assume to use the honda filter because genuine honda parts is baked into my brain.

You're right, oem is the best but there are some good oil filters on the market that are just as good such as bosh, mobile one, and even k&n has a great oil filter. Just stay away from fram, they use cardboard end caps and not metal like the ones i mentioned. Once the public found out, fram added metal and took out the cardboard and states on the new products "we only use the metal to protect your engine". Screw fram.

I work for an International Dealer. We carry Fleetguard filters which are manufactured by Cummins. I was curious about a cross reference and to my surprise they make a direct cross to our PCX filters. The fleetguard number is LF3462. I plan on doing a write up comparing the two. Seems like a solid alternate.

Although the Honda PCX filter is a solid platform. To each there own.

Thanks guys. Like I said here at honda they bake "use only genuine honda parts" into your head but only recently becoming an s2k owner I wanted to find out what people on the outside were doing.

I've only used this Honda filter since day one. No problems at all with excellent performance too. My latest UOA showed 0.0% insolubles. I rarely see that kind of performance.

I like the k&n filter because it has the holes to use lock wire to keep it shut.which is a requirement at certain tracks and/or for certain classes/events

The last truck I owned had a N14(450 hp) and it had Fleetguard filters on it. I changed over to Baldwin filters and thats what was on it when I sold it with 1.2 million miles.
I use Baldwin on my S too, I have put 80k miles on my S in under three years using B7042 and B202 filters. The bypass pressure on the Fleetguard is a lot lower than what the Honda filter runs.
