Oil Leaking from bolt on front of head
Oil is leaking from this bolt on the head I believe. I wiped it yesterday and its dripped again, I know the car has burned some oil but Im sure that's from hitting vtec. car is an 01 ap1 with 115k miles. Valve cover gasket maybe, not sure what that bolt is for?

Not an uncommon problem----you want to tighten it asap and if it still leaks, you'll need to replace the O-ring that's on the bolt (but don't remove it--you'll have a lot of extra work to do)
Here's a thread on it---pay particulat attention to Billman's comments---he's one of the most respected S2000 mechanics there is.

theres a o-ring that needs to be replaced (part# 15302-PE0-300). loosen the bolt just enough to get the old one off and put the new one on, do not take it all the way out, it holds the timing chain sprocket, torque to 36ft/lbs replace asap though.
i would prob just go to the dealer for something this cheap if its in stock but if you have to wait for them to order it i would get it on majestic to save the buck

i didnt mean its life or death but where it is, is right above the pulleys for his drive belt and if it leaks enough to get on his belt it would suck for him to have to have to replace his belt along with the o-ring. also, i personally wouldn't take any chances with a bolt loosen that holds my timing sprocket

Please reread it---I said "tighten asap" then replace if it still leaks.
The oil leak is either a bad O-ring or the actual bolt being loose. If that bolt is loose and works itself out, the upper gear holding the timing chain drops down and the engine is toast in less than a second.
If it's tight and still leaks, it's an O-ring problem and can be fixed soon but doesn't have to be asap.
I wouldn't drive an S2000 with an oil leak from that bolt til I made sure it was tight.

The chances of that bolt needing tightening are slim to none. If it was loose, the top end of the engine would fry itself in seconds due to a direct loss in pressure.
Don't be cranking it down trying to fix a leak, replacing the o-ring is the only way to fix that leak.
Can be done in two minutes.
