Oil on OEM Air Filter?

Is this normal? I just opened up the bag of OEM air filter I had purchased several months ago (finally have time to replace) and noticed that it looks like oil had condensed on it. Is this normal?

I believe what you are seeing is the protective film applied to the metal areas to prevent corrosion.

The recent OEM air filter I purchased appeared to be oiled (media) also. They must be made by Purolator (PureOne) now?

It is oiled. It has a green oil on it, sort of like the KN. As it gets old, it gets brown.
