Default oil pressure sensor

Had a real problem happen with my '00 S2K. The car shut off while I was driving. I coasted to the side of the road, and found that there was new oil sprayed all over the engine compartment. The dipstick showed the engine was bone dry. It turns out the oil filter gasket had cracked and all the oil had spilled out. I never had any warning light come on before this. I replaced the filter/oil, but the car still won't start, though it will turn over. Is there a switch or something that prevents the car from running/starting on low pressure that needs to be reset before the car will start?

No such switch exists exists. Sounds like you may have a much larger problem. Does the green Key light flash while you are trying to start the car?

Curious...what type of filter was it?

Was it the blue Honda 15400-PCX-004 or something different?

Sounds like it was not properly tightened.

It is likely you cooked the engine, hopefully I am wrong.

It was a FRAM filter. I don't believe the key light flashes. It's up at the shop now. I have my fingers crossed but the prognosis may be grim. I'm not sure how this would fit into my extended warranty.

If you have an extended warranty through Honda, and the dealer did the last oil change (although I doubt this is the case since I don't think they would stick on a fram), then you should be able to get some help. If you or a 3rd party stuck on that filter, you're out of luck. Did the car make any noises before turning off? Bone dry engine = not good.

This doesn't sound good.
