Thanks for the replys everyone. I change my oil every 4k too because I drive the car pretty hard, even when the oil says its ok for 7500. I can't be haulin ass on blackness oil!

Black oil doesn't mean it's bad.. do a UOA and you might be surprised at the money you may be wasting..

It seemed to me that the oil being tested had variables in effectiveness at various milage intervals.
To paraphrase a little, a certain oil that started out as excellent dropped to good at 3k then jumped backed to very good at 7K and then continued to improve to 10k with peaks and valleys inbetween or something to that effect .
Interesting study for petrolium engeneers maybe, for the rest of us probably not so much.
Perhaps the future will be a little more precise.
The short story is that as long as you change oil sooner than 12k miles, you're okay!

The manual says 10W 30 so that's what I use.
