Default OK, I got the code for the SC install .......... now what???

Went to Autozone this morning, and the code was P1362 - Ignition Coil C Secondary Circuit Malfunction.

What the heck does that mean????

The only thing I did with the "ignition" system was to change the plugs, that's it.

Any ideas on how to fix/track down that issue??

Per the factory manual P1362 is "No signal in TDC Sensor Circuit". Have you already reset the ECM? Does the DTC continue? Look for loose connection at the TDC sensors.

Yeah, after they read the code, he reset it. But it came back on as soon as I started the car.

Where are the TDC sensors located??

Thanks for the reply as well! Every little bit helps!

The Vortech box cuts into the TDC sensors 1 & 2 and uses this to send a trick signal which tells the car to retard. Check the connections for your timing box on the SC (the bigger box with the solid plus multi coloured wires) Check continuity and also direction (solid colour is on the loom side from memory - check the circuit diagram on the Vortach site)
If this fails take the timing box out of the circuit and reconnect the tdc input/ outputs.
Just checked - the connectors are located on the 31P connector on position 20 (green) and 29 (yellow). Check continuity and direction - sounds like its a wiring fault or the timing box.
Please publish the version number on the timing box if it turns out to be this.
GOOD LUCK

Thanks Maca!!

We have aleady pulled the timing box and sent it back to Vortech. But even after re-connecting the leads so that it is a continuous circuit again, and resetting the code, it still comes back, and I have the problem.

I will go back tomorrow evening (the next time I can work on it) and check it out again. Since the timing box is out of the car and out of the equation, then the reconnected wires should work on it as almost stock ........ it just hasnt so far .......

I need to re-check all the wiring around these two and go from there.

This has been one of the more helpful posts yet. Thank you very much for responding to it! Hopefully this will finally be it!
