I was wondering what your opinions are regarding the OEM shocks provided with the S2K. I was thinking about getting some adjustable shocks so that I can tighten up the suspension for the San Diego AutoX but I am not sure if I will do more harm than good. This is another attemp to reduce the under/over steer that I was talking about in another thread.

Has anyone changed out there shocks and when do you suggest changing them out?

Thanks in advance.

The general consensus is that the stock shocks are pretty darn good for auto-x. Changing to something else may not get you an advantage without a lot of tuning.

If you are sure you want to reduce the oversteer, you can use a bigger front swaybar and it is a legal change in the stock auto-x class.

There is still a limited selection of shocks for this car. Most in auto-x have gone to custom units in order to keep the stock springs and ride height that is required to stay in the stock class. You will find more info in the Competition Forum.

I changed my shocks but still went to custom units to get the combination of features I wanted.

All I know is that the rear stock shocks have an external resevoir. Most top of the line aftermarket adjustable coilovers don't even offer that.
