ordered my revhard manifold!!!!
ok, i just got off the phone w/ tom from revhard. i just ordered a revhard manilfold. he said that i'll need to use a t3/t04b turbo w/ a stage 5 wheel w/ a 63 or 82 exhaust trim. i'll also need to buy a oil filter relocator kit. let's check out how much i'm going to spend on my custom turbo kit:
revhard manifold $525
t3/t04b turbo $600 (my price)
oil filter relocation kit $100
intercooler $500 (for a nice big one)
custom pipes $100
custom downpipe $200
vortech fmu $225
greddy bov $250
Comptech E.S.M. $150
tial wastegate $300
Grand total $2950
i'm expecting to spend a little more than what's stated above, but it still beats the heck out of paying $6200 for a speed craft kit. don't get me wrong, the speed craft kit is a marvelous work of art!!! it's very well put together, but i just don't have $6k to spend. i pieced up a turbo kit on my civic and it worked out pretty well, it shouldn't be any different w/ the s2k. i'll keep you guys posted!!

thanks. i'm thinking about just ditching the fmu/vafc setup and just going w/ the aem ems and some big ass injectors. if i do use the fmu, i have the calibration kit which contains all different size disks.

Is it really that much cheaper to build your own? What if you use top quality parts? Will it be almost the same as a Speedcraft setup? I haven't considered piecing a turbo kit together... this is interesting...

all those parts listed above are top quality. speed craft uses practically the same parts. the only thing that is going to be different is manifold (different manufactures).

The only thing that I didn't see as being the right price was the wastegate, and he doesn't have a blow off valve. There are going to be some small misc expenses also that aren't included. What increases the price is the welding, research and development of the product. He says he has done it before, and a turbo kit is a turbo kit, good luck with it.
He mentioned that he did it on a Civic, oddly enough (and I know this sounds bad) but I have gotten alot of turbo information out of the "Got Boost?" clubsi.com forum...
The same theory applies here.
On another note, instead of buying the Rev Hard manifold I probably would have sought out someone local who could do the welding to produce a better piece. The Speedcraft and Rev Hard manifolds look mediocer (sp?) at best.

The ultimate solution is a tubular manifold, the problem is that you have to make these are one off items, and therefore they cost alot to reproduce. I don't see many companies going the cast route because of the costs involved vs the market size and nature of the average s2000 owner....

here's a couple of things. I'm glad you put together this kit yourself. There will be many many people to come who will follow your foot steps. But where did you order your Greddy BOV from? For 250. They list at $229 and I took the last 5 sets of bov from Greddy. Hehe, If you call them, they have about 700 bov on back order til mid aug-sep.
