I don't think you have anything to worry about if you misshifted 27,000 miles ago. There's obviously no problem.

But if you meant you misshifted again doing 7,000RPM, you are probably okay. I have not heard of any similar problem with an AP2, plus you were not at redline when you misshifted.

Your car has a RPM limiter, so if you go to shift and end up BTW gears it wont rev beyond what the limiter is set at. However if you are at redline and go to upshift, and down shift instead then you get a mechanical overspeed..not good.

Well Id say 27K miles and no problems then you are good. You may want to have a mechanic do a valve lash adusment anyway, IMO

i mis-shifted and had good compression numbers. i replaced the retainers for peace of mind.

a couple years later...i had bad compression, warped valve guides, warped valve face...

i would change the retainers for peace of mind and continually check the compression.

don't think you're fine forever.

Because the overrev a year prior is the only thing that could've caused the warpage?

You have an AP2, and it was 27k miles ago. If something (valve retainer) was going to break, it would have done so already.
