Default Overheating problems?

So this problem start happening when it really start getting cold out but idk if that has to do with anything. I'll have 3 bars (ap1) on the temp then sometimes it drops to 2 bars. And sometimes it goes to 5 bars and i even seen it all 6 bars. Which always I shut off my car.
The problem doesn't always happen. Mostly during at night. Only today it has done it when the sun was out. I'm thinking maybe bleed the system bc of an air bubble? I haven't messed with the radiator or anything since last winter. So I don't think it's an air bubble bc it didn't happen during the summer or anything. Thank you for your help.

Either that or you might have a bad thermostat.

Yea do it ASAP. How is the coolant level? Could be the water pump too, but that's unlikely.

Theres a write up on here on how to properly bleed the coolant system. Its a bit difficult compared to other cars, there are also two bleeders.

Since your heat is hot there would be minimal air at best, does it stay hot at all times?

should be 3 bars (ap1). I personally wouldnt drive it. All that constant over heating and cooling down could warp the head. it doesnt take long. remember almost everything under the hood is aluminum.

Tstat asap. And you are the first person i have ever heard of replacing their water pump.
