My car has plenty of water in it and the heater works fine. It's been cooler than normal around here (mid 40s - low 50s). I've noticed a couple times even after 20 minutes of freeway driving my car is only up to 2 bars. And it occasionally flickers to 3 bars then goes back to 2. Eventually it will get to 3 bars.

I'm thinking my thermostat has failed open. Opinions?

Possible.. Change the coolant lately? Air pockets like to hide

 

no coolant but about a month ago I did find the overflow empty but the radiator seemed full. I'll crack the bleeder and see if I find some air.
