Default P0301 misfire cylinder one code after 200-400 miles

Good morning,

Wanted to see if I can get some guidance on what the issue can be. I received this code about 2 months ago. Once I received it, I first tried to check if it was a coil pack issue and replaced it with a spare I had. About 200 miles later, error popped up again. Now I have switched out the spark plug with another cylinder plug to see if the code changes. Looking online, it seems that the valve adjustment can cause an issue. I did a valve adjustment around 1k miles ago so I'm not sure if I should check this.
Performance on the car is great. I can't tell when the misfire occurs.

Also, I'm running an ap1 ecu 00-01 on my ap2 05 motor. I researched and saw that this was possible without any issues. I've ran the motor a year now like this.

If the code pops up after the spark plug swap, should I check the valve clearance? I order the kit either way to have it for future valve adjustments.

Included is a pic of the spark plug as well. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Here is the link to the pics. Couldn't find where to attach it on the post.

Look a little erroded, but otherwise indicate a perfectly firing engine, were those the same plugs that were in the motor you swapped?

Hey, yea those are new plugs I put in when I got the motor around 3-5k miles ago. Both plugs pretty much looked the same on cylinder one and two.

Can you check compression of the cylinders? I would check compression then valve clearance before testing other things. If coilpack/spark plug are good, I would go injectors/fuel next.

compression test results in. Look a bit high but all in line.

Pretty much 250 across the board doing each cylinder 3 times.

Lowest was 245. Highest 255. Avg 250

Switch spark plug to cylinder 2. Switch injector to cylinder 3. Switch coil to cylinder 4.

lol this sounds so trolly, but +1 I agree.

I'll add by saying, visually inspect the connections of the coilpack (on the coil pack and on the harness, on the injector and on the harness) to see if the pins are bent or out of place.

Thanks for the advice. Just swapped the injector. Is it normal for the injector to have some blackish gunk/oil residue on the bottom part, not the top of the injector?

soon will see if I get the same code.

I wouldn't call it normal, but stuff does work it's way in there. Below the O-ring it should be super clean with only fuel though. Are they all gunky/discolored or only cylinder 1?
