he said he did drop gear when the car started to decrease its speed but noticed it wouldnt accelerate or pick up any speed

Have it towed to a mechanic that u trust. Don't let anyone drive it with a blinking cel.

he did have it towed but havent done anything to it yet. im still waiting for him to get me the cell code. thanks to everyone with their .02 really appreciate this a lot.

OVER REV

probley have valve damage and maybe a bent rod or a spun barring...
these come with over rev...

your looking at a lot of money \:

no he didnt over rev or anything and didnt miss any gear.. i only want to give him as much info as i can cause im not there. i can do all this troubleshooting if i was home since im not i can only email him or aim him some answers i get from you guys and him. thanks for everyones input. again i will take all advices as cause i dont really know or understand whats going on. i never had this happen to my car before this is the 1st time and it is 11 years old. i only put 53,xxx miles on her since i bought her..

he broke it. tell him to let it alone and wait till you come back. the car doesnt magically break by itself.

it could be something as simple as a cracked valve retainer. Just pull the code post it. when you get home do a compression test and start eliminating !
