Joey, can you elaborate. You mean pull off the the valve and clean with carb cleaner?

Just shoot some carb cleaner into the air ports inside the throttle body that lead to the valve while the engine runs?

Okay, I replaced the IAC (honda parts calls it a secondary air control valve).

make sure tb blade is not getting stuck slighly open. really that and the iac are the two real things that affect idle. throttle cable might be binding holding throttle open slightly.

Okay, I will check those over. The only other things the manual lists are some vacuum leaks. Very doubtful there.

I checked over the throttle body valve and cable; no problems. Checked vacuum leaks in areas the service manual mentioned; none. BTW, the car is fixed and here is what happened. After checking the above two items with no problems found, I stepped back and started over. And here it comes......I first ordered the air control valve ( the one at the back of the engine). Which is the wrong valve. Looking at page 9-2 as instructed, the IDLE air control valve; IAC located on the side of the intake runnner. I first tried to clean the valve, but that didn't help. So, I ordered and installed the idle air control valve and $210, 15 minutes, it was fixed. Just thought I would swallow my pride and add my brain fart so maybe someone else doesn't inadvertently do the same.
