Default P1259

So i bought my 03 with 55k miles, about 6 months ago

about 2 months after i bought it, i had a CEL come up right after i hit VTEC one time, p1259, i took it to my mechanic friend, we looked it up, and decided to just clear it. Everything is fine for about a month and the same thing comes up under same conditions, this happened about once a month, each time i just cleared it, this month its come up 4 times now, first time i just cleared it again, then it immediately came up, so i was going to take it to honda, but then it went away on its own. Next time it came up about 2 weeks later, i took it to honda, they wanted to keep it over night to work on it the next day but i couldnt do that because i have classes in the morning. Kept it on for a few days, but then decided to get it cleared again, have everything go back to normal, 5 minutes later it comes on again, this time it wasnt after VTEC, i was just generally driving down the road at 4k rpms or so and it popped on.

I dont want to clear it, i want to fix it, Hopefully i havent been being ignorant and caused any harm to the engine. I have searched and read somewhat on this, but no one has the same code with the same conditions (others are getting it at idle, or have something to do with a supercharger) My car has a KN FIPK and a Comptech header, nothing else performance wise

Whenever the rpms drop, (neutral, clutch goes in) the rpms go down to about 300-400, sometimes even lower like 100, car shakes real bad but then corrects itself, it has done this and completley DIED twice now, in which i just turn the car back on and its fine. I also 100% of the time get fuel cutoff at 6k rpm whenever i try to bring it into VTEC, i only tried it twice, lately but ever since the CEL has been on, it will do the same thing.

anyone know what i can do to fix this?

any help will be very appreciated

well after searching around, i heard it could just be a sensor getting stuck or something along those lines, and since the car would be 100% fine IF the CEL wasnt on, i didnt worry about it too much, now that its becoming quite persistant, im taking it seriously heh

ok checked the oil, was a tad low, so i put it back to a good amount level, turned on the car, light still on. I disconnected and reconnected the battery, turned it on, CEL stays off for about 2 seconds and then goes right back on. So ive ruled out oil being the problem, but this is first time CEL has come on without engaging VTEC first, car died again at a streetlight earlier today as well coming home from work. Thats the 3rd time

It has either a bad VTEC pressure switch, or the wiring to the solenoid or switch is fackked.

Find a new shop that doesn't have moron on the payroll and they can figure it out.

you can take off the solenoid, and check for clogging. That's what the manual said to do, among other things.

Also, once the solenoid off the switch, check action of the switch itself with your finger, it should be smooth.

So i was driving my car last night, car was idling perfectly, so i was like hmm.. lemme try to vtec, and it worked, car felt more powerful under vtec and it crossed over no problem.

But the CEL is still on? so i only did that once, but car is still idling perfectly, should i pull the code again to see if there are 2 codes running around in there? because if it was still the same P1259 wouldnt it idle terribly and cut the fuel off at 6k?
