Try resetting the CEL. If it seems to run good but the CEL is there, but not flashing anymore, ever, then it's likely just storing an old one.

 

Well today i was driving around and the CEL turned off on its own so now im back at square one.. i dont want to try to VTEC because i dont want it to come back on, but then again, i want to get it fixed, but i cant unless it is on.. should i just drive it around like normal or should i try to get it to come on again and then take it in again?

 

Go for it! Don't get a cramp in your crossed fingers, though. These OBDII emissions - compliant vehicles are really sensitive about their emissions, though.
