Just as the title reads Ive got an aftermarket alarm installed and I coulda sworn that every time I armed or disarmed the system the parking lights/brake lights would flash once or twice. Now when I arm/disarm the system the alarm only chirps and locks/unlocks but does not flash the parking lights any more. I tried the OEM key fob and the parkings lights do flash when I unlock/lock the car. What could the problem be?

 

alarm needs to be reseted.

 

I'm assuming whoever installed the alarm is using the (+) output provided by the alarm brain.
This alarm wire, usually white, has an inline fuse (near the brain) or a fuse in the brain itself (under a plastic cover on the brain, newer directed electronics modules have this).

Check the fuse.

 

just noticed my parking lights are not flashing anymore either....everything is oem and there are new bulbs in as one burnt out a few weeks ago and i replaced both.....
they come on when flipped on just not when locking and unlocking

 

 

checked all the fuses, they are all good,.....pulled the bulbs and they look burnt....coincidence that they both go out at the same time???? kinda odd since all my dash lights are starting to go all at once too
