Part 2 of the mysterious rattle
So, the other day I began hearing the rattling noise at low rpm/idle again. It seems to be worse at low rpm, btwn 1-2k, than at idle. I immediately rushed into the engine bay and looked around trying to decide where it was coming from.
I looked at the header heatshield.... and one of the bolts is missing. I think that *maybe* what I thought to be the TCT acting up... might just be a missing bolt.
Does anyone have any insight as to the most common places these bolts could get stuck and hang out? I'm going to be digging in tonight until I find it, even if it isn't the root of the problem. Otherwise, the car goes to the dealer on Weds.
Thanks for any input!

once there was a noise coming from the engine on mine, but I looked around and traced the noise to my stock o2 sensor, it was a little loose and I tightened it and it went away.. I think it was just rattling back and forth making a tapping sound..
Just a thought if its not ur tct

Also, try using the search tool to look up tct ticking. There are a couple sound clips here on the forums. Double check if that is your sound.
If not, Try google video or youtube. I have seen some clicking sound clips on there as well, although I would not use these as good resources.

I've researched the crap out of the TCT thing on here... to be honest, my rattling noise doesn't sound as loud/pronounced as what I've heard in sound clips. From some of the clips I've heard.... its a pretty regular occuring sound. Mine... is somewhat irregular/unpredictable. Another thought was low oil (its been about 3000 miles, and it appears I might have burnt off a little.) So, thats another thing on my check list.
Thx again~
