Ok, so my car doesn't need to have it? I recently bought it and when I was going through some maintenance I noticed that it wasn't there. I have driven the car a couple thousand miles without it.

Huh? Isn't that a front cover bolt? There is a matching one on other side hiding behind tensioner pulley.

The two top ones are larger than the rest.

Maybe the empty bolt hole you are thinking of is the one between vtec and exhaust manifold?
