Default People with AEM v2..

Hi, I just installed my Apexi filter w/ custom piping similar to the aem v2. I was cruising along the highway when it starts to rain heavily. After reaching home, I checked the filter was soaked wet. I have the c-west fronts, which explains the 'gap'.

Does anyone with the Aem v2 have the same soaked-up filter while driving in rain? Will it affect anything?

Thanks

Yeah I have a V2 intake, and have had the same exact problem. You can install a by-pass valve, or you can buy peices to cover up the holes on the c-west front.

Thanks for the input.
So i guess a wet filter won't affect the engine? I have no plans to install the by-pass valve. just concerned if the soaked filter is 'safe' for the engine.

Well if the filter keeps getting wet, it'll wash all the dirt catching oil out of it, which will just cause it to injest more dirt into the engine. A wet filter is not good. If your piping is exactly like AEM's, it will hold water in the bottom portion of it that runs horizontally to the ground.

EDIT: Just saw you have an Apexi filter, which doesn't use oil, so scrub that idea. I'm sure getting the filter wet still isn't very good though.
