Default AEM V2 Concerns

Ok guys so i need some advice...
i have a AP1 S2000 and i just bought a V2 AEM CAI...my concern is that my car is missing the whole under tray and splash guards....i live in houston Texas which means a lot of rainy days...should i be worried? is there anything i should do? or should i forget about the whole idea?

Any advice will be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

you should make an umbrella for the filter, so the water is directed away from the filter. while the car is sitting, rain will drain down and soak up the filter. also i would get the under tray/liners to prevent as much water from kicking up to the filter. i would just get a sri like k&n honestly if theres that much rain in your area. im also running the aem v2 but there is no worries about high level of rain here in cali

You sir are correct V2 is designed for sound no matter what people tell you. You will not notice the possible 5-10HP gain.

I picked up the K&N FiPK which I've read is basically going to be your best bang for buck. Some decent (relative to the mod) gain, throttle response, no more bog and best of all a stock like application.

Got mine for $230 from kensautowarehouse

Aem makes a filter that only lets air pass through it and not water..... I think its called an aem bypass valve thats what alot of people use.

You could also get an Injen prefilter to put around the AEM filter.
