Not if you're taking off just a very small amount. Is this just a street car or are you ragging on it on the track?

It's my daily street not looking to even turbo it any time soon. Just wanna have it running smooth since it was rough dealing and losing coolant. Thought it was HG and opened her to see if that's what it was but it looked fine . Now gona install new one and work on head and valves to guarantee smooth running. Any suggestions and tips to cleaning the piston and smoothing it out are accepted

Lots of carbon there that would be beneficial to remove.

It honestly looks like you just removed some carbon buildup. The base metal is exposed but does not look that damaged.

Step 1: Get some good cleaner and clean the top of the piston off. Ask around at the local auto parts store for a recommendation on the cleaner to use. All you are looking to do is get that carbon buildup off and expose the base metal.
Step 2: Smooth out any scuff that remains with some Scotch-Brite or emery cloth. The piston is aluminum so it should not be too difficult to remove the damage.

Don't overthink it. This is a really simple fix. By the way, I assume the head is okay, yeah? The damage to the piston is minor but check the surface of the head to make sure it didn't get wanged too.

Gona do that today, would it be okay to use 1000+ grit paper to remove the damages?

gona check the head as well for dings but I think it's fine. As for the piston in the picture there's three lines were the dings happened, after I clean the piston I will re post a pic for different point of view.

1000 grit sandpaper will work but it will take forever to do anything. Once you get the carbon off you will have any idea of how the original surface texture was. You do not need to get a mirror finish, just remove any sharp or high spots.

I would definitely use a lubricant.

I was just going to say, just cleaning all the crap off the piston will go a long way. I wouldn't worry about those few scratches, when you consider all the markings you have cast/etched on top of the piston from the factory. I wouldn't worry about it causing pre ignition of those don't.
