Man I can't believe all the rumor BS on this site.

You will have no issues at all with the Comptech flywheel. No imbalance, no stalling, nothing

So Billman,
You have used the stock disc ACT PP combo on 500+ whp cars? I have a Spec stage 2 with HORRIBLE rattle and am thinking about swapping back in my stock disc. I know it's a different PP, but it should be similar. Thanks.

Tim

Yup...the cars are closer to 550hp. ACT PP, oem disc, one's a TodaFW, the other a Comptech.

Bill

You know, it is funny. There seams to be some bad info out there, but I read all of the UTH threads and I think you do as well. So my question is where did this BS get posted in the first place?

Im curious though, are there any drawbacks to the CT flywheel over the stock flywheel or is that a win/win deal? I looked on HTG's site and could not find the combo package bill was talkin about, does HTG still sell the combo or maybe someone got a link?

there's a group buy right now:

i don't need a new clutch yet that badly, but what would happen if i did that package but stuck with the stock flywheel? either original or new OEM (i have 60k miles now). is that a wear item that needs to be replaced? i'm not really sure how all that stuff works.

I replaced my clutch at 35k. Yes I launch the car HARD and bought the car used with 13k so who knows. I installed the Act PP, OEM disc, new throw out and pilot bearings and had my OEM flywheel resurfaced (cut). The Act PP is MUCH better grip is very quick and tight. The lightened flywheels will allow you to Spin up faster. In my opinion this engine revs fast enough and I like the inertia the weight of the OEM flywheel provides. The weight savings IMO was not worth the cost. I have been very happy with this setup. If you have this done be sure they Clean and lube the spline very well, also while the shifter is out disassemble it clean it and lube it. If you have a 03 or beyond eliminate the slave cly delay.
