Pluggin the oil squiters?
Just curious on this one. I know that a lot of people plug the oil squirters on the pistons on B-sereies motors. With any of you that have built your motor have you plugged them or not. I figure not based on the design differences but with the motor coming together in a few weeks I wanted to ask the question for this is the first F-series motor for me.
Thanks

I wouldn't block the oil jets on any Honda engine, just for the piston cooling you will be loosing. Long term reliablity is pretty important to me.
The only folks I know not using oil jets is Inline pro, due to lack of clearance with the 2.5L crankshaft.

Blocking the oil jets reduces the oil mist in the crankcase the crankshaft has to cut through. On a drag application where the engine is only stressed for a few seconds of WOT, it not an issue.
My car see's plenty of WOT, closed throttle, back to WOT, engine braking and other road course/ street driving. Cooling the pistons with the oil jets is pretty important to me.
A few HP can be gained by limiting the windage losses.
Restricting Small Block Chevy lifter galleries has a similar effect.

I am waiting for Saen at ERL to return tuesday to gain his opinion. I figured before the motor goes together it would be good to check this out. There is so many ways of doing this in the Honda world I wanted to get user opinions so when I get to talk with Full-Race and ERL I can make a sound choice in the matter. Thanks for the input.

we CAN use oil squirters with the 2.5L. We just don't like using them. We have never used them in any of our motor builds
