Default Power Steering cuts out...

Hey Guys,

MY01 power steering has been going in and out at low speeds, especially around parking lot speeds. If I turn the wheel to lock when I'm at a stop, it SHUDDERS for 5-10 seconds or until I cut off the car.

I just got off the phone with a tech from a local honda dealsership and he said "if you turn your wheel from lock to lock at low speeds, it will cause the steering fluid to boil. Now, i'm not saying that he is wrong, but I thought S2k's had electronic steering?

any help is appreciated.

LOL you need to find a new tech. S2K doesn't have hydraulic power steering. There must be something up with your EPS module.

yeah, that was very unnerving...

is there a way to reset the module without going to the honda dealer and begging them to not put power stering fluid in my windshield washer tank?

Check your fuse box. I had a similar problem back in the day. Pull every single fuse and look closely.

I had the same problem a few months back turned out to just be a plug/connector that worked its way loose

Is the EPS light on?
If so, you could pull the DTC from the ECU.
