Default Power Steering Help

My power steering is acting up.
Sometimes I start the car and the EPS light is on, and the power steering doesnt work. Then sometimes ill start the car and the EPS light wont be on and the power steering will work fine, but when I turn the car to the right it is real notchy and makes a grinding type noise when turning the steering wheel.

Sometimes Ill start the car and everything works fine.

My car is still under warrenty... although I really dont want to take her back to the dealer (I have a "couple" modifications)

is it just a problem with the EPS power supply maybe? or is my rack bad?

please help!

yea a couple, but nothing too serious. (all on prepared grass surfaces, last one was april 07 @ VIR)

this starting happening after a time attack late september. I just havnt really driven my car since then, and with the track season starting late next month I really need to get this fixed.

Usually notchy steering to on direction is an indication of a bent steering rack.

Back to this problem...

I really didnt think that it was a bent steering rack because I didnt go off road right before this happened. And the problem didnt happen all the time.

After taking her to the dealership, I was told I needed a new EPS control unit. Im getting it installed tomarrow. Ill let yall know if that does the trick.
