From tire rack? Unfortunately only the Pro Acts fit our car, don't worry though, those reviews are unfounded. I rocked those same pads for 3 years, no dust stopped perfectly, even did a few Auto-x's with them. When I switched to AP2 pads, the rotors didn't even have a lip on the edge, and the pads had plenty of life. I just switched to AP2 pads because I figured they were worn after 3 years, and I was planning to do a full brake service, I just bled and changed the brake fluid and tossed in new pads.

For the record DOT 3 fluid while having a lower boiling point tends to last longer for street driving, the Valvoline DOT3/4 they sell at the auto parts store is quite decent, stay away from "whatever"(wereaver), unless it's brake cleaner. If you plan to work the brakes, use DOT 4 of your choice ATE is a forum favorite, Pentosin super DOT4 is pretty good, Castrol also makes a good DOT 4.

I guess I'll pick up a set of the Akebono ProACT pads then.

Was considering the Carbotech's 1521 too, but that's pretty expensive for just a street pad.

Damn, that is cheap. No idea how you got that deal...
I just looked on tire rack and a set of S04s are going for $690 (after rebate) + the ~$80 installation fee. Thus I figured $750 is pretty good.

You missed the $70 Bridgestone rebate by mere days. That, plus TR had them on special. I got an awesome deal for once.

Your original post made it sound like they wanted to charge you $95 bucks just for diff fluid, and like $80 just for the trans fluid. Not labor, just the oils themselves. That would be insane highway robbery. If those were the prices all in, parts and labor, sure, those numbers are fine...

The shop I went to has multiple +1000hp fp turbo evos and audi's that make crazy amount of hp along with tracked s2k's, but they still rammed a stick up my ass lmao. Just cause a shop has a 800hp s2k doesnt mean there is an idiot there that will do the job. The people who actually know what there doing are ones building the cars. The new guy that just started is assigned to change fluids and does the maintenance work, and trust me shops go through more "mechanics" than a restaurant does waiters, always a new guy there and always a new guy getting fired lol. Just sayin. I've been burned so I'm skeptical of shops lol so take my word with a grain of salt.

Trust me I fully understand this. I have my own horror story: When I first purchased my S, I had to get the Maryland inspection done. Unfortunately performance shops aren't licensed to do inspections because shops have to pay a fee to do this, therefore, I took it to a place that my parents had their cars inspected at. Well long story short, the mechanic who did my inspection put ZERO lug nuts back onto my front left tire. I made it about 200 feet from the shop and had the wheel nearly fall off. Luckily the wheel wedged itself into the wheel well and nothing on the bottom of the car was affected or even worse, pushed me into oncoming traffic.
