problem diagnosis help please
hello guys,
let me try to be as descriptive as possible. 2002 w/ 30k miles. I noticed the sound a couple of days ago only because I was looking at the motor w/ the hood up at the time, if I didn't just happen to look, I probably wouldn't have noticed anything.
so when the car is warm (after driving for a while, probably around 30min +) if i stop the car and go outside, i can hear a faint ffft ffft ffft sound, kinda like tearing a piece of paper(ie tear pause tear pause tear pause...). its only present when the motor is on, and if i rev the engine, the motor sound overpowers the ffft noise, so i can't tell if it gets faster w/ the engine or not. i tried listening around, and it seems to be eminating from the front of the motor, around where the belts are. i can't pinpoint exactly where its coming from other than that.
on cold start, there is no noise. it only comes when the engine is nice and warm.
any ideas? anyone else w/ the same sound/noise/problem(?). normal? any help will be greatly appreciated! thanks guys.

Buy a mechanics stethoscope, and start listening around underhood to locate the noise. Trying to fix a noise online is next to impossible. We can't hear it, The only thing we can do is guess at it.
