Default Problem with my Gearbox

hey guys, i hope i get here some answers

my problem is:

I have an My 2006 S2000 with round about 25.000 miles.

i bought the car brand new 2 years ago.

so i dont know exactly, but i think i had no problems with shifting the gears very fast. But after 10.000 miles it began, that i cant shift fast the gears. if i change fast the gears, i miss shifted. So i though the clutch was weared out. so i gave the car to my tuner and he changes my clutch. he added the fidanza flywheel and the ACT Stage 2 clutch.

But the feeling is still the same. I cant change the gears so fast. Look here the video from JS racing race car

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhqsTSn4xHQ...re=channel_page

I cant change so fast, could it be possible that my synchronic rings were weared out?
I dont think so, because i never heared about it

what do i have to do, to change my gears so fast, like the video from js racing?

My honda mechanic tell me, to add the OEM clutch, and than it will work. But i think 90% of the S2K driver removed the OEM clutch and added an aftermarket clutch.

so thnx for some help

Are you saying the gears are not popping into place?

or

Are you saying when you let go of clutch after a fast shift, you feel a lag?

I'm thinking it's the clutch delay valve your talking about ( some people say the ap2 flywheel is heavy, so replace it w/ a light weight one should help)

I would start by changing the gearbox oil.
If you followed your owners manual you haven't changed it yet.
25000 miles on the same fluid is .. time to change.
Then I would change the clutch fluid.
Make sure they (or you) flush & bleed it properly.
When you don't do that it will make things worse.
I would also check the clutch pedal free play.

All relatively easy and cheap things to do (for someone who knows what they are doing...)
Defenitely a lot cheaper than a new clutch.
I seriously doubt your clutch was worn after 25k miles anyway.

I wouldn't flush the transmission for several reason, one is that the metal shaving and metal pieces will be move around and get stuck in between gears. Then that just cause more problems, just do a normal transmission oil change and install a magnet drain plug like Spoon, Skunk2 or PASSWORD:JDM.

The J's Racing S2000 is a AP1 with a F20C engine, that the beauty of AP1 it's not restricted by a computer except for the redline.

I think you are experiencing the CDV.

sounds more like clutch fluid (or brake fluid in clutch resiv is going south...or theres air in the system...or the clutch slave or clutch master is bad......)

if its the CDV wouldnt he have noticed it earlier? + he says its hard to get it INTO gear, CDV would cause more engagement problems.

sounds like clutch is not fully 'disengaging' so...yeah

OP,

try check the clutch fluid level
get the clutch fluid flushed... (its most likely BLACK)
then check the clutch slave/master for leaks, IIRC lots of s2000's have the master cyl leaking (mine does right now..)

Good advice! I am having the same issues. Changed the trans fluid and things were slightly smoother, but the gears are still difficult to engage (feels clunckie/notchie) and my clutch pedal feels odd (not a steady presure). I'll bleed the clutch and let you know once that's done. Gotta love the DIY page!
